$63 Million Waterfront Project in Downtown Wheeling
With just under 40 days remaining in my second and final term as Mayor of Wheeling, it was incredibly gratifying this morning to be able to announce a transformational hotel and event center project that has been nearly two years in the planning process. This $63 million investment in the heart of Downtown Wheeling follows an already unprecedented nearly half billion dollars of public and private investment in the City of Wheeling during my two terms as mayor. To be sure, more work remains to continue Wheeling’s revitalization, but I could not be more proud of how we have been able to come together as a community and challenge traditional notions of what is possible in a small city in West Virginia.
Speaking of West Virginia, our voters have an important choice to make this Fall in who they send to the United States Senate. As the official Democratic nominee for this important office, I welcome the contrast between my record transforming Wheeling from within and my Republican opponent’s record in the state at large refusing to address many of our most critical needs. #elliottforwv
